Idea Lab – Spring Session

After another successful season in the Winter, we are continuing on with two new classes that will gear children towards a hands-on, fun learning experience relating to science and technology. This session we have two options:

Introduction to Robotics with Dash and Dot:
4:30 – 5:30 pm (5 year to 7 year olds)

Dash and Dot are clever bots that can be programmed in different ways and introduce students to the robotic world. Through a variety of activities students will gain skills in sequencing and coding. Students will gradually be introduced to new concepts and/or problems that will develop their problem solving skills based on different activities.

Minecraft Modshop and Level Design:
5:45pm – 6:45 pm (8 year to 12 year olds)

In this class, students will learn the basics of Minecraft as well as how to create modifications and scenarios that can be brought into Minecraft with just the touch of a button. They do so by creating blocks of code using a drag-and-drop coding system that can then be translated into Javascript. This gives students of all programming levels the ability to summon large buildings, change appearances of the game, and create worlds meant to follow rules that they have set.
